User safety

TALK is anonymous so no one knows who you are but equally you don't know who anyone else is. If you use TALK for conversations and never give away your personal information, such as a Facebook account, Twitter timeline etc then the app would be considered very safe.

However, if your intention is to use TALK to make new friends and possible meet people in real-life then you should consider the following advice.

Real-life safety

When meeting people in real-life you should follow guidance is if you were using an online dating site.

  • Meet in public
  • Tell friends about your meeting
  • Take your mobile phone
  • Use your own transport

The following video is from the Online Dating Association [ODA] which has helpful meeting advice.

TALK is for over 18's only. If you are in breach of our terms and conditions and under 18, you should not use TALK and under no circumstances should you arrange to meet anyone.

Our advice is not a guarantee of your safety. You are responsible to perform your own background checks.

Technical safety

TALK will be one of the safest sites you will use in respect of protecting your personal data. We don't have user accounts, credit card upgrades. In fact the data that we store on the servers is exactly the data you see in the chat rooms.

There is no incentive for anyone to hack our database as it holds no value.
